Working closely with municipal and county officials, Trinity will soon be breaking ground on a 7 story 43 unit affordable housing project in Mt. Vernon, NY. Named, “The Sixty at West First Street,” this affordable project will be Trinity’s fourth in Mt. Vernon and the company believes it will be as successful as the prior three projects. Completion of “The Sixty” will give Trinity a total of 159 affordable rental units in Mt. Vernon. In part due to its precedent reputation in the City, interested renters have already shown strong interest in living at “The Sixty.” Close to the City’s downtown, this new construction project exemplifies the type of quality in-fill urban development Trinity has built its reputation on.

Currently under construction, this project is a creative adaptive reuse of the historic former Ossining Post Office which is situated in the heart of downtown. The building was constructed in 1873 and was later used by the Ossining National Bank. After 110 years of varying uses the building was vacated permanently in 1983.

The plans involve construction of 12 affordable condominiums and 1 commercial condominium. The 12 units will be comprised of 6 – 1 bedroom units and 6 – 2 bedroom units and marketed to those families that are below 80% of Westchester County’s Area Median Income, specifically 71% of Westchester’s AMI. Public financing including Westchester County HOME, Housing Implementation Fund and New Homes Land Acquisition grant and the NYS Affordable Housing Corp grant has already been obtained.
